Preparing supplies and tools for an outdoor camping trip can make a lot of difference in your overall experience. Keeping an essentials checklist helps you stay organized, and there is a reason they are called essentials.
The must-have items on your list may vary depending on the type of your trip, camping location, and duration of your trip. Some of the common items that are a must-have include:
A pocketknife – this can be very handy and useful in emergencies. This versatile tool can be used to light a camping fire, fix a broken backpack and open cans when nothing else works.
First aid kit is a must-have. Even a basic package containing bandages and ointment can help you tend to the scratches, blisters and minor injuries while you wait for help to arrive.
Flashlight or a small pen light is vital to find your way in the dark. Make sure you carry extra batteries with you.
Water helps in preventing dehydration, heatstroke and also keeps your system clean. Keep lots of water bottles in stock.
Compass and a map can save you from getting lost in the wilderness. These critical tools can help you get back to your camp or locate your friends.
Why A High-Quality Outfitter Tent is A Must HaveWhile searching for the best camping tents for sale, you’ll find tents of various sizes and shapes, and it’s essential to pick the right one that fits your needs. But before that, you’d have to analyze the type of camping trip you’re going for. How many people can the tent accommodate? What extra features does it possess? Is it strong enough to bear harsh winds and torrential rain etc.?
Once you know what you are looking for you’ll spend your money wisely while browsing canvas tents for sale, and on the right tent. The crucial most features to look for in a camping tent are poles, durability, size, zippers, and of course, the material.
What’s The Ideal Size for An Outfitter Tent?
If you’re planning a short trip over the weekend, then a backpack or the back of your car would work just fine. But if you have a weeklong trip then you might need a tent that allows you to fit all of your belongings in it. The size of a tent is best measured by the number of people it can fit in.
Generally, a 2- person tent will have space for two people, but you won’t be able to move or fit in the extra gear. A four people tent would be suitable for 2 people. It will have enough space for them to stretch out and store their additional material such as camping mats too. And for a family of 6, it is recommended that you buy a tent for 8. The main idea while buying a tent is to buy one that has a capacity of two people more than the actual count.
If you can afford to stretch your budget, you might want to invest in multi-room tents. Multi-room tents come in various designs too. You can buy one that has rooms separated by a zipper inside the tent if you’re camping with kids and like some privacy to yourself. There’s also another with 3 room styles. In addition to 2 close rooms, you can find one added screen room to change dirty clothes or store the chairs and other material to keep them safe during rain.
Things You Must Look For In a Perfect TentTent with a durable rainfly
Rainfly acts as an umbrella for your tent. The bigger rainfly, the better. Make sure you have one that covers all the sides of your canvas rather than just the top.
Aluminum poles tent
Tent with aluminum poles are durable and can withstand harsh winds and rain. Most people end up buying fiberglass tents due to lack of knowledge. Remember that fiberglass tents are fragile and easily breakable. However, if you break a pole, some camping stores will send help or repair the poles.
A one-piece rub floor Tent
It’s crucial that your tent’s floor is made up of waterproof material and should come up a few inches from the side before it is attached to the tent walls. No extra place in the walls means there is no place for the water to leak into your tent.
Double Stitching and Folded seams Tents
Sometimes manufacturers might trick you into buying expensive tents but of low quality. If you pick up the sides and can easily see the stitches, be careful because this tent will definitely leak. You can always get a refund or use seam sealers to fix the problem.
A Tent with Guylines
Sometimes tent walls or rain-flies have various loops fixed on them. These loops are to attach guy lines that keep the tent walls intact. What you need to remember is that it is challenging to sleep in a tent that is flapping and making weird noises.
A Tent with Big Stake Loops
Before buying a tent make sure there are reasonably sized loops at the corners and center of your tent. The reason for making these loops big is so that they can easily hold plastic stakes sold in camping stores. Metal loops are preferred over plastic. Plastic stakes can easily break when subjected to hammering.
Heavy Duty Zippers
Safety is the foremost factor to consider when buying an outfitter tent that can efficiently work in the wilderness. You want a zipper that can provide support to the shelter and not get stuck in emergency situations.
More Tips to Increase the Life of Your Tent
One of the most vital tips to survive your camping trip is to never store ‘open food’ inside your tent. Well, storing food outside the container can make your tent stink. In fact, the smell of food will also attract insects and even larger animals.
Always store food in airtight containers or zip-lock bags. If you’re camping in an area that is infected with pests and other critters, buy a tent with a separate screen room.
When you return from a trip, set your tent and camping blanket in the yard and air it out. To keep your purchase functional for a long time, do not store your tent in moist places. Make sure you roll the tent and keep it safe in a ventilated area.

People often say that if you truly want to bond with someone, you should take them camping. Nothing brings people together more than staying away from the distractions of the world in a serene place with the night sky enveloping them. If you and your family are camping addicts and are looking for a new place to camp, then Yosemite is the perfect place for you. The Yosemite National Park covers a huge area but the most beautiful section of the park is the Yosemite Valley. Since the park is so humongous, you can find many different campgrounds inside the park. Here are three of the best camping sites in Yosemite that you can visit with your family;
1- Wawona Campground
The Wawona campground is located near the south entrance of the park. It’s almost an hour’s drive from the Yosemite Valley and one of the best camping sites in the park. Imagine you and your family camping out alongside the South Fork Merced River, surrounded by pine trees in every direction. Wouldn’t that be simply wonderful? The campground also has some amazing nearby attractions in the form of a giant grove of breathtaking sequoias called the Mariposa Grove and the Pioneer Yosemite History Center. To make sure that you don’t get cramped, you need to choose the perfect tent. A good option would be the family explorer deluxe 10’x10’ tent that caters to your every need. With enough space for six people and reinforced mesh material that allows for maximum privacy, this tent will make sure that your camping trip is a success.
2- Hodgdon Meadow Campground
Another campground glorious spot for spending time with your loved ones is the Hodgdon Meadow Campground. It’s less than an hour’s drive west of Yosemite Valley and is situated off Highway 120. One thing that draws campers towards this campground is the fact that camping at this site is really convenient and this campground is accessible all year round. If you want an authentic camping experience, then this is the perfect place. You can rest assured that you will make many friends on this trip, as the lack of trees in this area make it possible for all campers to mingle with each other. Without the proper camping equipment, you won’t be able to have an enjoyable experience. If you want a tent that fits all your needs and lets you camp in luxury, then bring home the Alpha Wall Tent 12’x14’. This super deluxe tent can fit up to 10 people for sleeping, giving you plenty of space to chill and have fun. Even if you have a small family, you will still have space to invite over all the fun friends you make at the camping ground.
3- Tuolumne Meadows Campground
One of the best sites for having an amazing camping experience in the summer is the Tuolumne Meadows Campground. This campground not only gives you a beautiful space to camp out but also gives you access to the many hikes and trails in the park. You can easily catch a beautiful sunset hike in the morning and camp out underneath the starry sky at night. The campground is situated at an elevation of 8600 feet so even if the day sun is scorching, you can have a good night’s sleep at night because of the cool breezes. There are 304 sites in the campground which means plenty of chances for you to get a booking. Another advantage that you get at this site is the convenience of flushable toilets and potable water, which are difficult to find sometimes. The perfect tent would be Regatta Bell Tent 16’. It can hold up to 8 people and the polyvinyl mesh is perfect for letting the cool summer breeze come through so you can sleep peacefully at night.
If you want to find the perfect spot then you need to plan in advance because the Yosemite National Park is one of the top camping sites in America. Spots at the park are pretty much in high demand all through the year so you need to pick the best time to choose your spot in advance. Once the spot has been booked, then all that’s left is the choice of the proper camping equipment without which your trip will not be successful. An incorrect tent will not only make it extremely uncomfortable for you and your family but will also put you at risk by exposing you to natural elements at the campground. So whatever you do, don’t forget to invest in the proper camping equipment. A small price to pay for the comfort and happiness of your loved ones during your camping trip.
This blog was first published on our website https://whiteduckoutdoors.com/blogs/blog/which-yosemite-camping-site-should-i-go-to-with-my-family-1 from https://wduckoutdoors.blogspot.com/2020/04/which-yosemite-camping-site-should-i-go.html The worst thing that can happen during camping is to sleep in an uncomfortable spot. Imagine that you, after a full day’s exciting yet exhaustive adventure, set up your canvas tent. You snuggle inside and lie down hoping for a good night’s rest. But what is that? An uneven soggy and lumpy ground? You change positions, but end up tossing and turning the entire night. What’s even worse is that saving the tent from water is next to impossible if there’s rain!
There is an easy solution to it you know. For places like forests and woods, sandy area, hilly stone sites or even parks, you can set up roof tents. Not sure what we are talking about? Here is all the information you need about roof tents for your next camping trip.
What are Roof Tents?
Roof tents are a camper’s best friend, particularly when you want to camp in wet areas or places where there is a chance of land sliding. Commonly known as the rooftop tent, these tents can be placed on top of your cars. They can also be placed on the roof bars that can fit on various cars and stand on the ground to provide stability.
The most wonderful thing about these tents is that they can easily be fitted in a small gear and then packed into your car for comfortable traveling. They are available in the waterproof material so even if you experience rain, you won’t get wet. Roof tents are simple to erect and lightweight too, which makes it easy for anyone to set them up even if they are not a pro at camping.
So why should you invest in a roof tent for your upcoming camping trip?
Roof Tents are a Good Investment
Most common ground tents can sometimes become rather difficult to manage. You may need to use hammers for pegs and read up the entire manual to make the tent stand up straight. It doesn’t just take extra time, it also involves a lot of effort. Also, you need to take it down every time you move or whenever water comes into the tent. Just think of all the extra hard work involved, particularly after a long day of trekking through your camping trip. The idea is enough to want you not to go camping.
Hence the reason roof top tents are all the rage these days. Here are all the reasons why you should invest in one.
Easy to Set Up
When you are tired after all the exploring, all you feel like at night is to eat, get warm and sleep. This is why roof tents are perfect for your camping trips. You can set up the whole thing within two minutes! One person can set up a tent on their own – you don’t need a person to hold up corners or tie the ends.
Of course, you will need to practice a little at first, but you can do that in advance before going on your trip. The best part is that you can leave your pillows, sheets and other things like a reading lamp, portable fan or your book inside when you take it off the roof. Could things get any simpler?
Roomy and Comfy
This may come as a surprise, but root tents are super roomy and comfortable. Depending on the size you get, 2-4 people can easily sleep in one without getting in each other’s faces or falling off from the tent.
It Does not Occupy Space… Inside the Car!
You don’t have to pack up the tent and put it inside your car. The tent folds up and can be tied to the top of the car and leave you lots of space inside the car for other camping gear and essentials. What’s more, you can even leave the tent open if you are only traveling for a short way and plan to set up camp within a few short miles.
No Hassle of Cleaning or Outside Dangers
You do not have to pick up anything once you invest in a root tent. There is no need to clean the tent of debris, dirt or leaves as the camp was up from the ground at all times. What’s more, they also save you from a variety of insects, small animals, and snakes. No animal will want to climb up and attack you. So you are safe when you are in a rooftop tent.
You can Camp Pretty Much Anywhere!
When you are traveling through some town and want access to a bathroom, snacks and Wi-Fi connection then the best place to set camp is in the parking lot of a fast-food joint or a supermarket like Walmart. Of course, you will need to seek permission from the owner of the place first but most businesses allow campers to park in the parking lot since you are using their services.
Not only roof tents are convenient and comfortable, but they are also cool to look at. People become awed when they see the advance tents you are using while they put up extra efforts to erect a ground tent. Now, do you have enough reasons to want to put your money up for a rooftop tent? Well, if there is any camping trip in foresight, now is the time to look up good and affordable tents and invest in them right away. You will not regret the decision and it won’t be long before you recommend these awesome tents to other campers! Have fun.

What can change your trip from a living heaven to living hell? “BUGS”… These bugs and other outdoor pests can make your camping a living hell. If you are a fan of great outdoors, you probably know from your experience that how these tiny insects can ruin even the most idyllic camping location with the noises they make or the bites they deliver to you. Luckily, you are not helpless in the face of these little demons.
Don’t be discourage from setting up camp exactly where you want by a handful of insects. Just follow the instructions in this article to keep bugs away from your canvas tents, and you will be able to enjoy pest-free outdoor experience of “Cold Air in Dark Night with Warm Fires and Bright Stars”. Read on to find out more.
First, make sure all the equipment you are carrying with you for camping is in good working order before you head out. Carefully check your tent, set up your tent in the backyard, for any places from where the bugs could get in, small holes, or maybe the zip is broken leaving gaps.
If you find any such areas, repair them -patch the holes, fix a snagged zipper by lubricating with oil to see if that will release it.
Secondly, once you are out in wild choose the location for your campsite wisely. Places which are prone to insect infestations- such as those with standing water (a literal breeding ground for mosquitoes), lots of vegetation (a source of shelter for the same), or the presence of utility light poles (bugs are attracted to light)- do “Avoid” them.
Next look for the natural features of your environment that are within your control, which means you do such activities in which you can prevent bugs gathering around your tent. For example, keep the dustbins away from your tent or don’t eat inside your tent as the smell of food can attract bugs.
Don’t leave your cooking stuff unwashed and make sure you store your food in either plastic or airtight container. Similarly, as mentioned above, bugs are attracted towards light, try not to use torches, lanterns, and sources of artificial light away from the door of your tent.
These are the “DO IT YOURSELF” methods for deterring bugs during your outdoor adventures. Here are some necessary things which you should carry with yourself when u r going for camping and expecting an insect free zone. First, take along a good insect repellent - most of the commercial ones are very effective, yet also contain DEET, a chemical thought by some to be toxic to humans.
If you don't want to expose yourself to this substance, then try one of the all-natural home-made ones - there are lots of recipes out there on the internet, so do your own research. In many of these 'natural' bug sprays, substances like eucalyptus oil are the active ingredient - so not only are they effective in shielding you from mosquitoes, they also make you smell good. Citronella candles are another good option here. Some outdoors men will even go to the lengths of hanging garlic and onions upon their tents as it is thought to keep the insects away!
A final pointer: wear insect repellent clothing, i.e. if the climate permits, choose thickly woven long sleeve shirts and pants, with thick woolen socks and heavy boots. On the other hand, if it's really hot, this won't be an option: fortunately, though, there are special clothes you can purchase that have insect repellent within their fabric, and that are said to work well in deterring bugs. This post was first published on our website https://whiteduckoutdoors.com/blogs/blog/how-to-keep-bugs-away-from-your-tent from https://wduckoutdoors.blogspot.com/2020/04/how-to-keep-bugs-away-from-your-tent.html Canvas tents are an excellent option for any camping trip. But a common problem that arises with most campers, is mold! Even though mold can be found anywhere, when you use the tents in the dark and damp environments, the chances of mold formation become high. When it comes to cleaning the molds from the tent, you may find it to be difficult.
To make your work easier, here is a list of ways for effective cleaning of the molds from your precious tents.
In order to get rid of the molds, it is important that you at first, thoroughly clean the tent and remove all the excess dirt and debris. Unfurl the tent and shake it vigorously in order to remove the maximum amount of dust.
You can then remove the remaining dust with the help of a vacuum cleaner with an attached brush for a thorough and deep cleaning. Especially, you need to pay attention to removing dust from the corners, laden areas, and the storage pockets of the canvas tents.
Before cleaning the canvas tents with soapy water you can brush it with stiff bristles. Brushing with the stiff bristles helps in removing the loosely held molds easily. This way the chemicals used on the fabric will work more efficiently as well as faster.
After removing the loose molds with stiff bristles or vacuum, the next step is to use the mold cleaning chemicals in order to eliminate the molds permanently. You can either use the simple mixture of vinegar and water or special chemicals like Concrobium. Spraying the chemicals on the mold-afflicted areas and scrubbing it with a sponge can help in eliminating the molds effectively. With high-quality chemicals, you will not have to rinse the tent vigorously afterwards as the solution will work its magic automatically. In the case of a more stubborn mold, you need to repeat this process another time, for better outcomes.
Once you remove the molds from the canvas tents, you need to wash the tent with warm water. Using a mixture of hot water, salt, and lemon, scrub the tent lightly with a soft brush. Make sure to avoid the use of bleach or detergent soaps, which is considered to be harsh for the fabric of these canvas tents and may also become tough for you to rinse. After a thorough cleaning, allow the tent to dry in order to remove the smell before storing it.
Chemicals for Removing Mold from Canvas Tents
While removing mold from the surface of the canvas tents may be tricky, the various chemicals available can help in making the task easy. Some of the popularly used chemicals to remove the molds include:
Concrobium works like magic in cleaning molds from the canvas tents popularly used by the campers. It penetrates to the root of the molds and helps in removing them effectively. Without the use of ammonia, bleach, or other harsh products, Concrobium effectively eliminates the molds. Simply spraying the mixture of concrobium and warm water can help in Chemicals for Removing Mold from Canvas Tents getting rid of the molds and prevent further molds from forming on the tent’s surface.
Mirazyme has active enzymes that help in eliminating the fungi spores/molds and getting rid of the smell easily. Soaking the tent in a solution of mirazyme and lukewarm water and leaving it for a few minutes can help in eliminating the molds fast. Without having to rinse multiple times, you can conveniently clean your tent in no time.
Being readily available in every kitchen, vinegar is one of the most commonly used chemicals for removing the molds from such a canvas tent. It serves as a mild acidic disinfectant and helps in cleaning approximately 80% of the molds. It also aids in preventing the mold from occurring again in the future.
Tea tree oil is one of the most effective chemicals for the removal of molds from your camping tents. Having both antibacterial as well as antifungal properties, tea tree oil aids in cleaning the molds and preventing them from occurring again. Made of natural ingredients, this chemical is also considered safe for use. You can directly pour this oil on the mold-afflicted area and leave it for some time in order to remove them completely.
When it comes to dealing with molds on your canvas tent, the fabric guard solutions are a popularly used chemical. Fabric guards not only help in cleaning the molds but also protect the fabric and prevent the molds from recurring in the future. With this easily accessible solution, removing molds no longer remains a difficult task for you.
Following the above-mentioned methods and using the right chemicals can help you in smoothly cleaning the molds from canvas tents. With the right solution, you can even prevent their further growth and use the tents conveniently for your upcoming camping trips. How To Clean A Tent?
Canvas camping tents are very elastic and make exotic shelters for camping trips. Over the time, you might see filth on your tent, your tent will show grime from your camping adventures but a little care from your side will keep your tent fresh and clean. The good news is that canvas tents are easy to clean with the help of a few common household tools. Follow the simple steps below.
Step 1 - Remove Dust from Your Tent
You can easily clean dust from your canvas camping tents, if your canvas camping tent has accumulated lots of dust, dirt, and debris. Starting with unfolding your tent and aggressively shaking it to remove as much dust as possible and then lay the unfurled tent on a clean surface. Attach the stick brush with your vacuum cleaner and proceed to thoroughly vacuum the tent, paying special attention to any exceptionally dust-laden areas, corners, and storage pockets, as there are very high chances for bugs to be there. In case you don’t have vacuum cleaner or forgot to take it you can use a Dust buster, or a broom and dustpan in its place.
Step 2 - Remove Mold and Mildew from Your Tent
Once you are done with cleaning dust from the tent, separate the canvas tent canopy from the floor of the tent. You will wash the floor separately. You can leave the guy-lines on if they are dirty, just remember they must also be retreated in the end to prevent UV damage. If there are mold or mildew deposits on your canvas tent, you can effectively clean it with an easy-to-make homemade cleaning solution. To make this solution, combine ¼ cup of white wine vinegar and 1 cup of water. Combine the elements inside an empty spray bottle and jiggel it thoroughly. Spray your cleaning solution onto any mold or mildew-infested areas and allow it to sit for few minutes. Then you can wipe away any mold and mildew deposits with a sponge, paper towel, scrub brush, or washcloth. Continue to repeat this process until your canvas tent has been completely purged of mold and mildew.
Once you are done with removing all the traces of growth from the floor of tent, take a second empty spray bottle and fill it with warm water, which is healthy for cleaning the tent, and use it to rinse off your cleaning solution. Immediately use dry cloth or paper towel to dry the freshly cleaned area.
Step 3 - Remove Stains from Your Tent
You need to give your canvas camping tent a full wash, if it is exceptionally filthy and covered in stains. To perform this, fill a very large container with about 1 foot (30cm) of warm water. Add various cups of Ox clean and use your best judgment on how much to use vs. how dirty the tent is and reference the suggestions on the box. Stir thoroughly until the solution is dissolved completely. Warm water dissolves the solution better than cold water. Place the tent canvas (not the floor) in the container and fill it with water until the tent is submerged. Stir and agitate thoroughly so the solution is well mixed and the canvas is soaking evenly. Allow the tent to marinate for 4-10 hours, stirring occasionally. It’s ok to leave it soaking overnight if you need to. Place you tent on to clean surface to allow it to get dry and then clean it like a kitchen floor. Sweep it, mop it and rinse it. Repeat the process of soaking several times to make sure it’s completely clean then spread the canvas out on top of your clean tent floor and pitch it. You can also pitch the floor on top of your car, then place the canvas on top of that to assist with run off. Don’t put the canvas directly on your car because Ox clean can strip clear coat. Always allow your tent to dry completely after a camping trip and any cleaning. If you let the water stay for too long, the moisture could cause more mold and mildew to form. The best way to dry every area of your canvas tent is to set it up and allow it to air dry.
With a little TLC and a few basic ingredients, your clean tent will allow you years of camping enjoyment.

from https://wduckoutdoors.blogspot.com/2020/04/hither-hills-state-park-or-montauk.html Why #Reconnect should be your New, New Years Resolution
Finally, the start of a new decade; we all toasted and planned excitedly as the unbelievably long 2019 came to an end.
How did we celebrate?
The way we always do, we made big resolutions and set lofty goals as our hopes and dreams were at an all time high.
Fast forward 17 days.
Our plans have failed.
Scared? Disappointed? Angrier at yourself than you were the cast and production of Game of Thrones?
Don’t worry!!
We have a new, better resolution for you. Reconnecting with the outdoors; Making the most of your surroundings; exploring new trails as you blaze your own trail.
This is why your new resolution should be enjoying the outdoors:
1. It’ll break your usual cycle. Word Hard? Play Hard? Repeat? That constant cycle will soon become mundane. No matter how good of a balance you have set between work and your personal life; you should always try new things. So break your cycle by taking a nice bell tent to a nearby campsite and enjoy the view.
2. Its good for health: Science Daily shows how being outside is proven to alleviate stress, reduce the risk of diabetes among many other benefits.
Pretty neat huh?
So find a canvas tent grab you buddies and go take a nice break together. It’ll be healthier than going out to a bar or binge watching Netflix for the rest of the weekend.
3. It’s not as expensive as you think: A common misconception is that buying your own tent and going camping is extremely expensive. But it's not. Find a good wall tent for sale; it’ll be the best investment you’ll make…. Well all year. A good cotton canvas tent is a sturdy, 4 season tent that will be by your side for a long time and help you make great memories. Think of it as multiple vacations, your tent, with its easy bag storage makes you incredible mobile. Yosemite one day and Grand Canyon the next?
Say what?
4. It’s not as hard or gross as you think: Another common misconception is that the camping and being outside over the span of a few days is hard… and rough. A few minor changes can easily turn your canvas tent into a great glamping tent. So get the bare necessities OR your fancy fixins (if that’s more your style) and get out there as soon as you can.
5. It’s not as seasonal as you think: One of the best things about cotton canvas tents is it breathability and inverse insulating nature. Cotton canvas tents can easily be winter tents, with heavy 10 oz. canvas and stove jacks, you will be cozy and warm no matter what the conditions outside. Check out what “Girl in Woods” Brooke Whipple does as she makes her tent hot in the freezing winter cold

from https://wduckoutdoors.blogspot.com/2020/04/given-up-on-new-years-resolution.html The great outdoors has much to offer. But there is only so much you can do from sleeping out in the open, most of which is not appealing to many. The wild animals, bugs and the lack of a bathroom are only just a few things that will make anyone, planning a trip outdoors, reconsider. Fortunately, you do not have to miss out on an adventure, and can instead take part in glamping, without having to deal with any of the nuisances involved.
Not sure what you are getting yourself into? Read on to learn the basics of glamping in NY.
What is Glamping?
If you are clueless, glamping is glamorous camping. As absurd as it may seem, it is a fashionable and fun way to enjoy what the outdoors have to offer. The best part about glamping is you will not have to restrict yourself to a sleeping bag but instead can enjoy all the comforts of a luxurious tent, chic hut or even a spacious tree house.
If you take this route, you will never have to worry about sleeping in the dirt, nor will you have to be uncomfortable out in the open. You are free to treat yourself to a comfortable bed, without having to pay too much in the process. How might you ask?
Well, glamping is cheaper than booking a hotel room and you still get to camp! That’s right. No matter what anyone says, it still counts as camping, since you are spending the night outside.

Anyone who’s ever been to Coachella has at least pitched his or her own tent at least once. If you’re looking to maximize your time at Coachella you should definitely be camping onsite.
What is Coachella anyway?
If you didn’t know about much Coachella before today don’t be embarrassed. Most people don’t know about Coachella when they hear about it. In fact, many of the attendees are often first timers.
The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, or Coachella for short, is an annual music festival held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. From Indie music to EDM, the festival features some of the most famous and talented artists from around the world each year.
The roots of the event go as far back as 1993, when Pearl Jam refused to play at Ticketmaster venues. Looking to boycott they ended up holding a concert in the Empire Polo Club. Although the first official Coachella Festival happened years after in 1999. Making this year Coachella’s 20th anniversary!
The festival happens every year in April, with the tickets going up for sale as early as January. If you haven’t snagged some by now you’re a little late. But don’t panic yet, there are alternative options to get ahold of one. Be sure to keep checking their official website and join the waitlist or perhaps stalk resellers like seatgeek.
Canvas Tents for Coachella
If there is ever a debate about what kind of tent is best for Coachella, the answer is always Canvas tents.
Why a Canvas Tent?
Canvas tents are better designed for long duration camping, such as week-long festivals or hunting trips. Made from natural fibers like cotton they are also better at handling weather and environments like winter or desert camping.
Breathability
One of the major reasons why canvas tents are considered superior. A breathable fabric allows airflow, allowing moisture and condensation to flow through. This breathability also helps keep the interior humidity level the same as outside levels.
Durability
Canvas tents are made from thick fibers giving them added strength and durability. When properly taken care of, Canvas tents can last a lifetime.
Fire/Water Resistance
Due to the nature of the fibers used in canvas, they are naturally water resistant. While other fabrics can also be water resistant, they can easily go up in flames against fire. Compared to them canvas is much more difficult to burn. With state of the art premium treatment exclusive to Canvas Fabric, Canvas Tents can become both Water & Fire Repellent.
Bell Tents
Due to their simple design and sleek look, bell tents are often the preferred choice by ‘glampers’. Modern bell tents are carefully designed to meet every camping and glamping needs. No matter what some say, bell tents are actually very spacious, enough to place a room full of furniture inside. If you’re ever looking for a fancy tent, whether it’s Coachella or your backyard, the bell tent will always be an eye-catcher.
